View of the drained Forggensee with Schwangau behind it near Füssen / Bavaria with wooden walkway in the foreground. The Forggensee is fed by thawing snow from the high Alps. The sedimentary rock carried with it settles at the bottom of the lake. In order to remove this sedimentary rock,the water of the lake is drained to make it possible to transport it with construction vehicles. By the summer,the lake has returned to its normal water level and is used by excursion boats and recreational boats.
