RUSSIA, Moscow: A woman prepares to plunge into icy water on January 19, 2016 in Moscow, taking part in ceremonies for the Epiphany.Among Orthodox Christians, the feast of Epiphany celebrates the day the spirit of God descended upon believers in the shape of a dove during Jesus Christ's baptism in the river Jordan. At midnight, worshippers walked in procession from one of Moscow's Orthodox temples to the lake. Tents for warming and changing clothes were arranged by military people and the Ministry of Emergency (EMERCOM). Women and little children entered the water at the temperature 10 degrees below zero. Some people stayed in water just a few seconds, others, praying, plunged several times.
