GERMANY, Cologne: A sign reading: 'Refugees Welcome' is held in front of the train station where the German group called Pegida held a demonstration on January 9, 2016. Pegida was founded in late 2014 initially as a small group protesting against what the group perceives to be the growing influence os the Islam in Europe. Public anger has grown after coordinated sexual attacks took place in the city centre. The mayor of Cologne Henriette Reker stated that linking the attacks to refugees is completely improper.
