TURKEY, Istanbul : Kurdish militants hold makeshift hand grenades during clashes with Turkish riot police in the Okmeydani district of Istanbul following a demonstration against recent curfews imposed on Kurdish towns on December 15, 2015.The Turkish government has been waging a relentless offensive aimed at crippling the rebel Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which has staged a string of attacks against security forces in Turkey since a two-year-old ceasefire fell apart in late July. Clashes have been erupting in Turkey amid growing anger over the imposition of curfews to back up anti-PKK operations.
