Giles Baths at Coogee is known as a bogey hole ��� a semiformal rock pool open to the surging surf. In calm seas and low tide is a serene idyllic rockpool suitable for children but can also be a rough and tumble whitewater washing machine in high and turbulent seas. In lower tide there is a large flat rock shelf at the bottom of the stairs for visitors to lay out towels or keep belongings, which totally disappears at full tide and too rough for a swim today
